Lerentia obtained her BA (Ed) Arts degree in 1980 from the University of Pretoria.  Her work was exhibited on a regular basis in and around Gauteng.

She did several sculpture courses with Charles Gotthard before she left for Europe in 1990.

She learned the craft of cartapesta, creating paper mache masks used at the Venetian Carnival, and worked

closely with a master craftsman in Florence Italy.

On her return to South Africa she relocated to Langebaan, Western Cape, where she managed and worked at the

West Coast Arts Guild gallery, the Agios Nikolaos at Club Mykonos. The Five Feral Females exhibition were opened and reviewed by Judith Mason

in this period and she received a prize for sculpture from the Arts Association of Bellville.

At present she uses an exciting combination of the revolutionary Metal Clay, which up to now has mainly been used for jewelry making,

to enhance ceramic and mixed media sculptures.

Each piece is unique and range from thought provoking to whimsical and quirky.

She also does digital graphics for local and international publishers, mainly book covers and illustrations.
