Kristie van Zyl was born in Pretoria, South Africa. Kristie did classical ballet from the age of six;

this inspired

Kristie for many years and formed the basis of her art career today.

Throughout the years she was able to experience the world of the arts intimately.

Kristie also went to dance for The

South African Ballet Academy. During this time she learned a lot about self expression

 and it had a direct influence on her work.

Kristie is a student of South African Artist. Marie Vermeulen-Breedt, and works with her

and Jaco van Schalkwyk on a daily basis.
