Eryn was born on 17 December 1944 in Germiston, SA. She matriculated at Boksburg High and become a computer programmer for about 10years.

She has three children, two boys and one daughter. Her husband died in 1991.

 Eryn always painted as a hobby but started to sell her work about 25years ago. She took art lessons from a Mr. Nasa who trained at the Roya Academy of Art.

 He taught her to copy old masters- with dry brush technique. She also paints landscapes, flowers and street scenes.

Eryn Gadsby was commissioned to do a big order for Louis Luyt.

 Eryn used to paint with acrylics but returned to her old favourite namely oils. She also uses a palette knife.

Internationally, she admires van Gogh and locally Hugo Naude, Adriaan Boshoff and Gregoire Boonzaier.
